hi, hello. ✨
i usually like to share something about my faith or what God is teaching me in these monthly newsletters, but i discovered something about myself + i have to share.
i was reading tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow this month1. in the book, the protagonist describes another character’s eyes as heterochromia. i googled the term because i was curious what it meant.
side story: when i was sixteen, i asked the guy who was my biggest crush,
“do you think i’m pretty?”2
he retorted with, “you have pretty eyes”.
😧 . . . okayyyyy, thanks? (yes, i still think about this interaction twenty years later when someone makes a comment about my eyes.)
back to present day: imagine my surprise when my search revealed that people with central heterochromia have a different color near the border of their pupils.
when i ask people what color my eyes are, the most common response is, “you have gold in the middle and a greenish color on the outside.” aka: central heterochromia! 👁
it was a fun reminder of how the Lord has created each of us with unique qualities that make us . . . us.

this was such an interesting book, but very secular. i have complicated feelings about this one.
WHAT DID I ASK THAT?
