hi, hello.
i sat in the pew, nervous because i hadn’t been to an evening class in weeks (okay, months. ugh- okay FINE, not in this calendar year!). a friend sat next to me, which made me breathe a little easier. then class started, with heartbreaking news: a woman in our church has just suffered a miscarriage. the words no more left her mouth, and i felt a hand lightly touch my shoulder.
it was a small gesture, but one that spoke volumes. i held back tears for our sister in grief, but also for my friend’s small gesture of shared grief.
at the end of class, we prayed for our sister. and it happened again. another friend standing next to me grabbed my hand. she also knows this grief all too well.
deconstruction will tell you the church is bad; others will sing all the day long of how they walked away. i know church hurt is real, but what i also know is this: the local church is where Hope + healing reside. having been raised in the church, i knew this, but it was made even more evident this month.
MARCH BIBLE VERSE:
“but each day the Lord pours His unfailing love upon me, and through each night i sing His songs, praying to God who gives me life.”

LESSONS + HAPPENINGS FROM MARCH
+ we had a lot of snow this winter. more than normal. so when i went to botanica, i almost came undone at the sight of a blooming tree. spring is my favorite season. 🌸
+ unsubscribing from emails take 20 seconds + is so worth it to have less junk to delete.
+ on a random tuesday afternoon, jared + i went to the movies to watch the batman. it was such a fun day date. we bought food + ended up having the entire theater to ourselves.
+ discernment is of the utmost importance in today’s culture + entertainment.
+ i am on an iced chai kick.
+ there’s a difference in serving vs people pleasing. the latter has always been my default, but i now see they are not synonymous. when i have an issue with the two, i can always pinpoint it with where motivations lie: is this for them or for Him?
+ i got wordle on the first try! 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
+ a life that feels good > a life that looks good
+ i ate my weight in cream cheese mints at my niece’s bridal shower.
+ novels in verse might be my new fav reading genre.
